A quick update on all things FPS. With some schools commencing their September holidays at the end of the week, we take this opportunity to wish you a relaxing and safe time away from the classroom.
SENIORS STUDENTS - CONTINUE YOUR FPS JOURNEY
Did you know that our newest FPS team member, Thomas Khoo, started his FPS association in grade 4 as a CmPS member? He then became a Scenario Writing competitor in secondary school. After leaving secondary school, he evaluated Scenario Writing for FPS Australia and FPSPI. Fast forward to 2022, and Thomas just completed his first year as Scenario Writing coordinator, all while managing his day job as a doctor at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide.
Future Problem Solving encourages Senior FPS students and coaches to extend their involvement with the organisation, and as you see from Thomas's story, there are many opportunities available within Australia and Internationally to work with FPS. If you are interested, check out the options here.
ACHIEVEMENT CERTIFICATE
Coaches, if you would like to provide your students with a certificate acknowledging their 2022 connection with the FPS program, please send a list of their names and corresponding learning options to office@fpsp.org.au
COACH WORKSHOP IN MELBOURNE
Our PD team is currently planning Coach workshops to be held towards the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.
Our first will be at Scotch Grammar Junior School in Melbourne on 23 November 2022. To register or find out more information, click the button below.
The workshops are designed for teachers new to the FPS program or existing coaches who need to update or refresh their coaching accreditation. All full-price course enrolments include complimentary registration in one of our FPS programs. FPS feels it is beneficial to implement FPS in partnership with another colleague at your school; we offer a 50% discount to the second and third educators enrolled from your school.
2022 NATIONAL FINALS
We look forward to seeing many of our FPS students in October at the 2022 National Finals hosted by Carey Baptist Grammar School in Melbourne. After two years of virtual events, it will be exciting to be at a face-to-face final.
Our Global Issues and Scenario students will be addressing the topic of Mining. Our Community Problem Solving students will present the projects they have been working on all year.
Invitations have been sent to the coaches of the qualifying students. The complete list of qualifying teams can be found here.
