Future Problem Solving (FPS) has been in Australia for several decades and many students have participated in the programs. FPS is working to reconnect former FPSers so that they can share their experiences with the next generation of FPSers. As each Senior Division moves on to University and life beyond FPS, alumni have the opportunity to return to FPS as a mentor, volunteer, or evaluator.

We understand the impact of FPS on a student's academic career and future professional career. There are amazing opportunities to meet old teammates, former competitive opponents, and acquaintances.

FPS is an international family, so we encourage former FPSers from other regions now living in Australia to also reach out to us!

The Future Problem Solving Program (FPSP) is an educational program designed to help students develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The program aims to prepare students for the challenges of the future and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
2022 National Finals 06

Future Problem Solving is typically offered as an extracurricular activity or elective course, and it is open to students of all ages and grade levels. The program is structured around a series of competitions that challenge students to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills to real-world issues and scenarios.

Global Issues Problem Solving students are presented with a complex scenario or problem and are asked to identify the underlying issues, generate solutions, evaluate the pros and cons of each solution, and select the best course of action. Students work in teams (or individually) to develop their solutions and are judged on the creativity, originality, and feasibility of their ideas.

Future Problem Solving emphasizes the development of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills. It is designed to help students become better problem solvers, more effective communicators, and more confident leaders.

Become an FPS Coach and help guide and support your students as they develop their problem-solving skills, teaching strategies for analysing complex issues, and helping develop leadership skills, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
