Essential resource for the Booklet program, but does not have to be purchased each year, unless a new edition is published.
Student Guide Workbook Use in conjunction with the Coaching Guide. This handbook is produced by FPSP International and introduces generating and focusing tools and guides students through the six-step problem solving model. Each section contains explanations and examples. Coaches should note that there are slight variations between the Australian and International evaluation systems. In the case of contradictions, the Australian version of the Coaching Guide is the definitive publication for schools in the Australian Program.
*Readings, Research and Resource Manual 2009 The standard annual publication from the International Office, extended for our schools, giving basic definitions, bibliographies, article summaries and exploratory questions for each of the four topics of the year. Essential: must be used as a starting point by any booklet individual or team, as well as scenario writers. Tends to be US in its perspectives, but now includes access to relevant material from an Australian viewpoint online.

Activity Packs Not available until March 2009 (Two topics - Olympic Games, Cyber Conflict) Produced by Robyn Boswell, Affiliate Director of NZ, these are produced for three of the year's topics. Contains a variety of practical activities aimed at exploring the topic. Mainly for primary students, but useful at all levels to generate action (including senior students). Curriculum / Topic Activity Units Produced by the International Office, contains comprehensive coverage of the four (4) FPS Topics: The Olympic Games, Cyber Conflict, Space Junk, Pandemic. Each topic unit provides lessons focusing on the FPS model, research, thinking tools, a simulation, and a practice future scene.
2007 IC Team Problem Solving Champions Read and review all three champion team problem solving booklets at the International Conference. Includes evaluator scores and comments. Ideal model for both students and teachers. Fifteen Years of Future Scenes An Australian publication that includes nearly all future scenes for the first fifteen years of the Australian program,. Very useful in providing practice future scenes in similar or related topics. Non-competitive teams or those using FPS in the classroom find the collection ideal for developing FPS along the same lines as a theme being covered in the conventional classroom.
Problem Solving across the Curriculum Another FPSP International publication. It contains multiple future scenes, demonstrates how to write problem situations for curriculum topics and includes examples used by teachers in the classroom. Future Thinking, Future Studies Techniques for Future Problem Solving A FPSP International publication that offers a range of classroom strategies and exercises for developing thinking skills, specifically related to the steps in the Future Problem Solving process. Thinking Ahead: teaching for the future Produced by the International Office, this publication is a excellent practical resource for the teaching of thinking skills in the classroom, focusing on the use of concepts and skills inherent in the FPS thinking process Available in hard copy only.
DVD: Action Plan Presentations (Skits) Partly updated in 2005, but based on a 1997 Australian video production that gives recorded examples of good Junior and Middle skit presentations from the 1996 National Finals. Now includes an example from the 2005 National Finals. A little outdated in terms of FPSP Australia personnel, but essential as it is the only visual resource currently available on the Presentation of Action Plan Presentations (formerly known as skits): the examples are of high quality presentations of varying types.
DVD: Future Problem Solving International Publicity Programs Produced by FPSP International. A general overview of the Future Problem Solving Program, plus specific short presentations on the Six-step FPS Process and Community Problem Solving program.
