An Overview of the Hong Kong Program
Teams from Hong Kong have been registered in a major way in the MBFPS Program
since 2003-04. However, due to the differences in the academic years, the submission
dates for Hong Kong vary from the Australian schedule.
The Hong Kong Program for 2006-07 is now in progress. Final decisions on which
booklet and/or scenario writers will be invited to participate in the 2007 National
Finals of the Future Problem Solving Program will not be made
until late August, when entries from Australia and the other mentored regions
(Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa and Homg Kong) will be judged. This is to
ensure comparability of invitations from all regions. Homg Kong representation
at these finals is, however, guaranteed, assuming that the invited teams are
able to accept the invitation
Registration can be made online through Flexicomm. Interested
schools should contact the FPS Hong Kong convenors for assistance in the first
instance, or else the Australian International FPSP Liason
(see below)

Special Assistance for Hong Kong teams
In a move to provide our mentored regions with more specific assistance, there are now three specific sources of assistance for Hong Kong coaches :
a Flexicomm tech support: email Flexicomm from the help link within the program if you are having technical difficulties with accessing or operating the site
b FPSP Australia office: for assistance with access to sections within FlexiComm, lost passwords, purchased resources and so on
c International FPSP Liason:
Overseas coaches will have access to a person who will be responsible for assisting
schools with any question of difficulty related to the submission, evaluation
and return of booklets, including coaching advice. Simon
Casinader, as Assistant Evaluation Co-ordinator
, has responsibility for liason with all Australia's mentored regions, including
Hong Kong , in relation to the daily operation of the FPS Program. He can be
contacted on international@fpsp.org.au.
Since this role is also being undertaken after hours, please allow 24-48 hours
for a response, although every effort will be made to deal immediately with
urgent concerns.
All coaches should download the 'How to Use FlexiComm'
manual, which takes the form of a Powerpoint presentation. Due
to the size of the file, it has been compressed into a self-extracting file;
that is, once downloaded, double-click the file and it will transform into a
conventional Powerpoint Presentation.
